Instructions
Mix flour and sugar, then add the lemon peel, and salt, a little at a time, milk.
Put on the heat and stirring you thicken the mixture.
When the cream is ready and very thick, pour it on a slab of marble greased with oil, roll out the dough to a height of 1 inch and a half and refrigerate.
As soon as the cream will be firmer and cooled, with a slightly damp knife cut it into diamonds all the same.
Sprinkle With Flour.
Beat the eggs in a bowl, then soak up the diamonds, one at a time and toss them in the breadcrumbs.
In a large pan, pour plenty of oil; just hot will be frying the diamonds one or two at a time.
Drain them and let them dry on a paper towel.
Serve warm or lukewarm.
