Keep the lentils soak for 12 hours.
Drain and boil them with bay leaf and Sage until will hold.
Pass the Mashers.
Boil the potatoes and mash.
Stir lentils and potatoes.
Saute chopped onion in butter, pour in the mixture and allow it to taste, stirring, for 15 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper.
Put everything in a buttered baking dish and bake at 200 degrees for 30 minutes.
