Cake with Raisins (Torta con Uvette)
Instructions
With melted butter grease a pudding steam cooker with a capacity of 1 litre.
Sift the flour into a large bowl, then add the fat, fruit, sugar, spices and baking soda and mix well.
Make a hole in the center of the mixture and pour in the milk (with addition of lemon) and the egg.
Mix well all the ingredients for a long time without working the dough.
With a spoon, put the mixture into steamer and livellatene the surface.
Cover with aluminum foil and grease with a lid, and place the pot in another pot.
Pour into the pot as large a amount of boiling water to 2/3 swipe of the steamer and cover.
Simmer over low heat for 2 hours and 30 minutes, adding water to keep the level if necessary.
Remove the cake from the Pan and place them on a serving dish.
Serve hot or cold with custard or whipped cream.
Ingredients and dosing for 6 persons
- 3 cups of flour
- 3 teaspoons of yeast
- 1 cup of animal fat
- 1 cup of sultanas
- 1/2 cup of chopped raisins
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 1 teaspoon of mixed spices
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- == 1 beaten egg
- 2 cups of milk with lemon added
