Boil the rice in salted water.
Meanwhile, remove the core to dates about breaking them in half.
Melt the butter in a pan and add the dates by mixing and making sure they don't burn.
When the rice is about half-cooked add saffron, and when it is cooked, drain well and season with butter and dates.
