Instructions
This Tuscan peasant cuisine is nothing more than a bread salad.
The bread is baked in the wood-burning ovens but failing that, you can use that.
Place for half an hour to soak bread in a bowl filled with cold water; then, in three or four shots, squeeze it very well.
Deponetelo in a salad bowl, putting over all other ingredients.
Seasoned with salt, olive oil and a little vinegar, stirring well.
Let stand for half an hour and, before serving, taste to see if it still needs oil and vinegar.
Ingredients and dosing for 4 persons
- 500 g of stale bread
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- 500 g of salad tomatoes diced
- == 1 Cucumber diced
- 3 stalks celery (sliced)
- 200 g of tuna in olive oil
- 10 leaves of basil (chopped)
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil extra virgin
- Wine vinegar
- Salt
